The World Cheese Awards 2022, held in Wales, awarded no fewer than five “Super Gold” medals to Savencia. Among them:
Ossau-Iraty Esquirrou, made by the Mauléon cheese plant, located in the Basque country, with whole sheep milk from local breeds.
Trou du Cru by Berthaut cheese plant, at the heart of Burgundy, the smallest cheese in the world in lactic curd with a washed rind.
Mothais sur Feuille by the Poitou-Chèvre cheese plant. A cheese matured on a chestnut leaf picked at the first frosts, giving it very characteristic flavors: underwoods, mushrooms, dried fruits, citrus fruits...
Fromage Abbaye de Postel Mi-Vieux, made in Belgium by Passendale cheese plant, offers an intense and fruity taste, with a firm but melting texture, with some ripening crystals.
Bluehorn Blue Cheese, by the B Corp certified American cheese plant Rogue Creamery.
In addition, Savencia left with 9 gold medals including one for Saint Agur Coupe, sixteen silver medals including one for Boffard Reserva, and fifteen bronze medals including one for Giovanni Ferrari Grana Padano Riserva matured over 20 months.
Thank you to the L'école Savencia du Fromage and Philippe Dumain for providing sensory and cheese training to some 70 judges for the World Cheese Awards.
A great recognition of our master cheesemakers’ know-how and the excellence of our products!
